No one goes into a marriage expecting to get divorced. No, you’re thinking about your future together, kids, grandkids, growing old…you’re certainly not planning to go back in time to when you were single.
But about half of all marriages in the U.S. end in divorce. So that means about half of all people who get married will have to hit the reset button. If you’re one of them, you have a lot of company.
What will your “single 2.0” life look like?
That’s the best part…you get to decide. You pretty much get a do-over. A fresh start. A clean slate. It’s actually very exciting.
Always wanted to take up painting? Now’s a good time. Or maybe tennis. Go for it. Maybe you’ve been wanting to lose 15 pounds. You could focus on that. Or maybe reconnect with some old friends. Or make new ones.
You. Can. Do. Whatever. You. Want.
All you have to do are these 4 steps:
- Set a goal
- Create a plan
- Take consistent action
- Achieve anything
This is how you can accomplish anything you want. So simple, right?
So, instead of focusing on what you think will be the negatives, I want to talk about some of the great benefits of being single again. I call them the dirty little secrets of divorce.
Women who are divorced:
- Finally have time for themselves
- Realize dating men is a lot more fun than dating boys
- Can watch whatever they want on TV
- Can read at night without feeling guilty about keeping the light on
- Make all the rules in their own household
- Buy only foods they want to eat
- Send their kids off to the best babysitter in the world (Dad’s not going to let anything happen to them — and it’s free!)
- Know what they want (because they now know what they don’t want)
- Save, spend and budget their money exactly the way they choose
- Need no one’s approval for anything
Are you getting excited?
Your new single life can be whatever you decide to make it. So why not make it fabulous?
